In this context, this is why Lou and Asia are important.

Well, having the top players surely doesn't hurt. Next season UCONN will once again have three top 1/2 players with KML, Stewart and Jefferson. Put that together with the true number 1 (Geno) and you have a pretty good recipe for a championship.

Like UCONN needs any help in that department
At the moment, when Stewart and Jefferson graduate we will have ZERO #1 or #2 ranked HS players on the team!!!! The horror of having to become a Baylor, ND, Maryland, or A&M type national champion!!!! The nightmares have already begun! KLS, Asia if you have any pity in you, think about my sleep deprivation!

It is interesting looking at this and I am thankful for the research. When you look at the players identified and think about their careers/when the losses occurred it becomes a little more impactful - most of the #1/2 players had good college careers, but Hunter for example was a medical shell of the player she was in HS.

For those of you who think we're too loaded with talent, think about this what if Katie Lou and Asia go to ND????????????????

Article didn't prove much, though it's probable that there was not much to prove. Teams do well when they have top players. Well, duh.

Interesting read!

Was 2005 a weak recruiting class?

I had forgotten that Courtney Paris and Abby Waner were the top rated players in that class.

I don't worry too much about this because I don't trust the ratings.

Where are Waner and Arriaran now? Arriaran was a bust at UT. Granted she had knee surgery but she was always too slow to play at that level and did not handle the pressure of being a top rated player. Funny thing is that the Paris twins were ready to go to UT but Arriaran convinced them to go visit OU and they subsequently chose to play for Coale.

ASGR has Gabby #2 in 2014 class

(ASGR has KLS #2) I think she is coming to Storrs

ASGR has Boykin #3 and Collier #4

The Huskies are in very good shape for the near future, the next 6+ years

Though we struck out on Paris and Waner, I was happy with that class. Renee and K-Bear had nice careers.

I'm eager to see Collier. Her length makes her a dominant player. Sounds Maya-like. And Boykin has athleticism to spare. I could tell just watching her walk into the gym.

That says it all for me- we end up with the #18 & 21 picks , and those two are key starters in a 90 game streak, and are in the Final Four every year. All the other top picks go somewhere, but nobody puts it all together like Geno!

I agree, but they played with the #1s named Tina and Maya.
