11 Things About the June Solstice (timeanddate.com)
open ur eyes and minds to the awesome, and controlling factor for all life on our rock, whether u know it, or not. doesn't matter, it still be true. i bounced outta bed a few days ago at 5:30 am (wait, whut? that almost never happens), cuz instinctively my natural radar kicked in and yelled 'hey! wake up! big things are happening!' strolling to the kitchen to fire up mr. coffee, the windows revealed an absolute circus of fauna on crack. critters everywhere, with every single bird giving their best 'America's got talent' audition. it was the day of the earliest sunrise, to be followed up by the 'now.'
lot's of ancient cultures treated it as the day the sun stops.
'The word solstice is derived from the Latin sol ("sun") and sistere ("to stand still").
yup. it's real, and it's spectacular.
next up in a month or so, midsummer night(s). ol' will the taleteller knew what it be. hi-jinx, fairies, all living creatures in the northern hemisphere animal kingdom tending to act a fool around then. downright giddy. it's in our blood, even tho our currently constituted mainframe is only on a short, 250,000 year old production run.
now, aboot all these snakes rolling around this year. kinda wild, no?
