There is really no news here, just a rehash of message board utterrings meeting common sense - which i suppose is its own form of news.

The reality is that at the end of the day, even if FSU leaves, particularly if FSU leaves, it really makes sense for the ACC and the big East football schools, to join forces. leave the basketball schools to their own devices and form an all sports conference running the length of the Atlantic Seaboard...As far as basketball goes it would be very good. Football has some potential, bu tit absolutley would require a bigger commitment on the part of a number of parties. A Miami resurgence would be helpful as would development of a northern power from among the former Big East schools.

if the ACC is going to fall apart, it's because of the big fish out there in the media and entertainment industry, that would like to build an engine for profits, similar to what Disney has, realize that the only way to attack an animal as big as ESPN, is to cut off it's food source, and the ACC, to my knowledge, is ESPN"s largest source of live sports programming.

the ACc may be currently its biggest source of programming, but have you noticed that there are SEC stories, SEC volleyball and softball and baseball on all the time now on ESPNU and ESPN2? ESPN si trying hard to stop the SEC from breaking off and forming the SEC network in 2016 or whenever
