This seems like a perfect time for them to make themselves available to the masses and shake hands and hear folks out. could be sort of an impromptu town hall of sorts. Let the big shots in the suites wait until halftime to chat

I still have faith they will make sure this all ends well - conference, football coaching situations - but clearly their popularity rating has taken a hit in the last week. A walkabout might help their PR. They might get a tough question or two, but that's life in the big city

Yeah, Ward can "monitor" the feelings of the fans, and Susan can tell them that they will have nice memories of happy times in the new Big East...

Whatever guys. If they have the balls to face pissed off fans they might change a few minds. Tell me you wouldn't respect them for at least showing their face. and i doubt most of the ppl ripping them on this board will have the guts to do so face to face

This is basically what I said on another thread. I don't expext them in the lots, outside the stadium, or in the Husky walk, but it's more likely to see them on the sidelines facing the wrath of the fans. If they get booed so be it, it comes with the territory. Lets see how much courage they really have or will they be hiding in the boxes upstairs.

And while we're at it, where will Channel 3 be Saturday? Will they cover 85 high school playoff games. Whoops no, they are on Sunday because of the storm. Uconn mens and womens basketball, they get enough coverage.

Channel 3 needs to get their to the game and cover it from the cradle to the grave. No excuses. Maybe if they start hyping football as if its the ONLY game in town on a regular basis, not a spotty fill-in basis, we might get a lot more respect from around the country

I don't really care if they have guts. I care if they are effective.

I don't want GDL to walk through the parking lots before the game and show guts. i want him to do something with the offense.

I don't think they'd make it out alive but yeah I'd respect them a tiny bit for doing it.

I like the idea for them both to get some street cred. Dozens of state police available pre game to cover any idiots. They should bring it to the ground level and not just the faux fans behind the glass.

Regular fans couldn't get within 10 feet of Suzy if she was walking around the lots.

Based on a lot of the stuff I've read over the last 2 days, I doubt the state could afford the security detail that would be needed for this to happen.
The state has been able to protect Malloy. Noboby has screwed the state more than Mr Ut-ut-ut.

My parking spot was right behind the former President's. The amount of money spent on his detail was a embarrassment. 2 state police escorting him around like anyone gave a who he was.

I can assure you she's no stranger to the parking lot. And she’s not one to duck dealing with the hard realities of what just transpired. Look, rail all you want about her conduct in the end days, but the reality is this---Louisville filled a very special and immediate niche that the ACC felt they needed to fill. In the meantime, despite all the chest thumping about how we were a better candidate, who among you doubts our football program warrants an upgrade in lots of areas. Starting with fan support, attendance, booster contributions, stadium expansion and coaching "enhancements".
I’ve yet to see an atmosphere in The Rent like we saw last night at Rutgers--at kickoff. Not even close. For even our most important games. I’ve been at them all. That’s what the nation sees and perceptions are born of such stuff. Show me a few more of those in E. Hartford and things might have been different last week.

It would be tough to pull Warde away from all the tailgate food being offered or thrown at him :)

Maybe we can play a thursday night game as a ranked team with a BCS bowl on the line. Check the atmosphere then.

The idea is preposterous. It accomplishes nothing. Perhaps some people on this board would get a chance to feel their voice is more important than it is by seeing the Pres or AD in the lot. But if they did wander out there they'd have time to meet a small amount of fans who may or may not appreciate the gesture. The rest would be unaware they were even there and I'm sure it would spawn all sorts of jokes, rumors and criticisms.
The marching band plays in the gray lot before every game, I'm sure much of the crowd remains unaware of this fact. I know I was until I started parking there.

How would you like to be Paul Pendergast (sp?), who was basically told when he was interim that they needed to bring in a someone as permanent who had the connections, etc....for conference realignment? That all Paul did was go to games and raised money.

So we should continue to have the kind of disconnected Pres/AD that we've gotten used to in the last 10 years? I agree a walkabout won't get 10,000-seat Rent expansion, a new Hartford arena, a new conference. But sometime it's the little things that count. Good customer relations never hurts

I never said the Pres/AD should be disconnected. I think they should be in tune with their fan and alumni base overall. You think a stroll through the parking lot solves that? You think you have a complaint they haven't already heard?
