I don't have an opinion one way or the other about these helmets, but I think it's great that UCONN is some sort of pioneer with this type of helmet design.

Looks like an open can of raw salmon.

Sorry...

Like those too. Better than ours. We need an interlocking UC on the side of our existing helmets.

You guys are looking at the back of them right? Without that they are just another trendy helmet that is like dozens of others. Those eyes are ridiculous.

You do understand they are ALTERNATE helmets, not to be worn every saturday?

Regardless, I like them; then again, I like almost any helmet better than ours

NC State had the good sense to make these alternatives.

UConn's ugly helmets are the primary.

I have to agree with Palatine here. These are just another trendy example of helmet technology run amuck. It is getting tiring, and each is more stupid than the next. Except ours which has cornered the market on stupid.

Eh, these alternate uniforms/helmets have so jumped the shark.

It's like going to a Marilyn Manson concert in the 90's and seeing thousands upon thousands of idiots dressed in black with goth makeup on because they all wanted to be different.

LOL. THat's a good analogy.

So what you're saying, is that the good old solid blue, block C, is going to be the new 'radical' look. :)

Looks like someone ran out of ideas.

"I don't know what to do, I'm out of ideas."

"What if we took 3 different cliches and mixed them up on one helmet?"

"Will people think 3 old ideas mashed together are really 1 new idea?"

"We won't know until we do it."

"OK, then, silver, neon or carbon?"

"Let's go with carbon. Next, eyes in the back or eyes in the front?"

"Too noticeable in the front, let's do the back, but what's the 3rd item?"

"Who cares? You just need 3, doesn't matter what stock formula you use. Heck, you can even spray paint parts of the helmet!"

Those aren't even close to as bad as our helmets. For starters, they don't even have a bumper sticker on it like we do on ours.

I hate to bring it up again, but ours are right up there among the worstI have seen. The San Diego padres uniforms of helmet design. They combine ugly, silly and cheap in one hideous package. And they are a memento of the worst season in our D-1A history, maybe not from the perspective of our record, but from the sense of total hopelessness that overtook the program in October.
