Savage was a beat late on that throw, but he has a cannon. Schiano gave up on him too quickly.

There are a TON of Noles fans there. Pitt usually draws well for the top ranked opponents. Color me impressed if they can pack the house once New Mexico and Virginia come to town.

I've cooled off enough to enjoy seeing FSU crush any allusions anyone had about Pitt elevating ACC football.

I switched back to MLB Network after tuning in to check out what Heinz Field looked like. My distaste (and jealousy) for Power Conference football is not allowing me to enjoy watching it as much as I used to.

So your the guy that still watches baseball.

Just remember: ACC added Pitt for basketball not football. Syracuse too.

Rutgers beat guy... So tempted to ask the obvious but bad weekend to be throwing any shots @ anyone not named USF :(

So they DIDN'T actually implode the field at that place in The Dark Knight Rises? Shame.

Watching reality settle onto those PITT fans felt pretty good.

In a conference full of mediocre programs, Pitt will be fine. FSU, Clemson and VTech ( for a little while longer) are very good, Duke is bad, and everyone else treads water. Wake and BCU are in decline. Pitt can get to .500 in this league.

What did Pitt do to UCONN?

Pitt conspired to vote against the ESPN BigEast deal which would have kept the league together behind the back of other members. Pitt was taken by the ACC only after UConn was blocked by BC.

This level of stupidity just angers me. The ESPN offer to the Big East was terrible, as was later proven by 14 of the 17 Big East schools getting much better offers to play in other leagues. If the ESPN offer was so great, how come all these schools basically doubled their revenue by saying "no" to it?

Not the latest one... the original one. Once we (the BE) started shopping around, the game changed.

Despite all the shenanigans that went on in the BE, I have no animosity for those that moved onto something bigger and better.......no matter how it was accomplished.

You can certainly see how a "legitimate FBS" team and league may energize a fan base. Win or loose, good for Pitt.

I hope to live to see something like this at the Rent on a weekly basis.

Pitt may have gotten a dose of reality competition wise....but it will only help down the line.

UConn also got a couple of doses of reality.......only its future today does not reflect the same promise as good as those that left and/or will leave the BE/AAC.
