Sool vs Neumann-Goretti 16 PTS 6 REB (1 offensive) 8 AST (7 potential / 1 foul) 1 TO 1 STL 2 BLK 2/6 2FG 3/7 3FG 3/6 FT 1 charge drawn

Dematha and Archbishop Wood both switch A LOT 1-4. Will be good experience for our switch-heavy D.
Underrated skill: he never passes and stands. Whenever he swings the ball he relocates with a soft/rub screen.
Coach uses him as a screener a lot in OOB and SOBs.
Despite my concerns with his defense, he does deserve a nod that he 1) communicates well on switches 2) is generally in the right place. I would assume that bodes well going forward for improving
Take some kind of boneheaded shots early in possessions. Not in transition any more, and haven’t set anything up in the half court. Odd.
Talks to his coach constantly during foul shots, short breaks, between inbounds etc. Good thing to see in a PG.
Much less right-hand dominant than a year ago. Still not totally ambidextrous, but a notable area of improvement.
Doing a better job turning, sprinting, sliding his feet on D instead of reaching. His step slow athletically is more noticeable when he puts in that effort.
Didn’t see the entire game + OT. Does a good job with in-game rest most of the time. Shabazz had this mastered.
I see one more ref who feels the need to dramatically run down the court for charge calls, I’m quitting basketball fandom forever. God that is annoying.
Not particularly effective off ball. Lot of standing
Some nice hustle going after the loose ball here (after kind of a lazy rebound attempt) Nice defensive possession by his team. https://youtu.be/B3PFznxyCf8?t=1232 Doesn’t scrap for a loose ball but does get the nice block… https://youtu.be/B3PFznxyCf8?t=1418 3 ball https://youtu.be/B3PFznxyCf8?t=1497 Tricky dribbles. Gets a bailout foul call for a carry it looks like to me https://youtu.be/B3PFznxyCf8?t=1648 Charge drawn https://youtu.be/B3PFznxyCf8?t=2089 Nice drive and dump off https://youtu.be/B3PFznxyCf8?t=2559 Pump fake, step back 3. Not sure how % of a shot that is, but it looks smooth https://youtu.be/B3PFznxyCf8?t=2609 Ugly first 2 point FG of the game https://youtu.be/B3PFznxyCf8?t=2882 Steal https://youtu.be/B3PFznxyCf8?t=3009 Real nice pass. https://youtu.be/B3PFznxyCf8?t=4175 Tricky dribble for the and 1 https://youtu.be/B3PFznxyCf8?t=4825 Tricky dribble and the assist https://youtu.be/B3PFznxyCf8?t=5701 TF kind of shot was this. No shot clock down 2, 30 seconds left? Seems like a boneheaded mistake from a kid who doesn’t make many. Boys Basketball Varsity vs Neumann Goretti Game tying assist to send it to OT https://youtu.be/B3PFznxyCf8?t=6272 Nice wind up 3 https://youtu.be/B3PFznxyCf8?t=6533 Overall: Efficiency at the rim, FT line, and 3 point line are still my primary concerns. Also, how does he fit in with Jackson who also needs the ball in his hands constantly to be at his best? Defense is not good now, but I’ll chalk that up to a lot of minutes--Hurley will get the most out of him and he should be able to play harder starting with fewer minutes. Game management, passing, IQ are likely the best on our team next year.
