I'm incensed by this.
I have an uncommon perspective on the world, to be sure, and one component of that is that I'm an extremist when it comes to criminal law and such matters - all judicial flexibility should go to the defendant. If you want to put a man in jail, give him full due process, and prove your case.
It is fundamentally wrong that they are allowed to pursue this matter at this juncture. There needs to be a statute of limitations type restriction on these matters, particularly given that the events in question occurred before he came to UConn. Further, there needs to be an "all or nothing" approach to bringing inquires. You bring it all, or you are barred from bringing a portion of it later. None of this, "there's new evidence" horse- two months after the last go round.
I don't know enough about the system to know what the avenues of voicing discontent are, but I'd be voicing my displeasure up and down all of them right now if it was me.
