Is it dearth of penetration leading to low FT opportunities, lack of on-ball defense beyond a hobbled Diarra, freshman influence beyond Liam, playing at a fast pace? All reasonable holes needing fresh soil. Inability to pass the ball inbounds was tops for me, infuriation-wise. Giving away late possessions due to self-inflicted wounds is unacceptable. The reason was simply lack of quickness/agility to get open. When you have five of Alex, Aidan, Liam, Samson/Tarris, Solo, Jaylin and a hobbled Hassan out there that's what you get. Ross was our only quick-twitch player besides the knee-worn Diarra and Ross had too many misgivings to be out there at crunch time. Hopefully he'll start to get it because he has the agility to perform which we lack on the wing. We'll see what freshmen can bring but Furphy's calling card is not agility. Nor is it Adams's or Reibe's. Mullins tape - my eye-test shows he has 5-star skill and better than average athleticism but difference-making quickness doesn't jump out. This highly rated bunch seems size, skill and IQ-heavy but athleticism-weak. Demary will clearly help and we are surely after another guard in the portal and he'd better be an explosive, handling/defending type - not necessarily a big scorer. Diarra2 would be just fine. This would help fill several of the holes. If our main and late minutes are coming from Demary, Mullins (or Karaban), Reed, Stewart (or Karaban) and Ball I'm not convinced we've fully solved the agility problem.
