41-0 vs. Cincy last year vs. 37-13 this year. Improvement, stagnation, or have we gotten worse?
Ive been watching UConn football since the 60s
This team blows my mind
You read that make believe football writer Desmond Conner state that the receiving corps are great - if so - UConn has faced the best defensive secondary almost every game these guys cant shake anyone.
The linebackers are getting worse every game
How many QBs is he carrying and if it's more than one - maybe a change once in a while might be a good idea.
The offensive line might as well wear NYG uniforms - neither can block or protect
I really felt that this coach was going to make a difference - yeah he is full of rah rah and it looks on paper like he can recruit athletes - but can they play?
Sorry to be a downer but watching this team is so very painful and I really don't see any bright spots this season
Has there been improvement? Maybe bits and pieces BUT in my opinion, I also see some retraction.
I thought the defense was a bright spot but watching Cincinnati churn it up for huge plays and marching up and down the field at will...
How much time are people willing to put up with this level of play?
I believe there has been imporovement.
Mod: can the title be changed to read "improvement"?
No!
Diaco set the bar so low last year that there was no other place to go than up. We should be very very concerned at this point with the rate of improvement. Can only kick a dog so longI believe there has been imporovement.
Here's a question... How has Cincy stayed so good over so many years, and (more importantly) over multiple head coaches???? Let's take a look. Since FHCRE was here, and then PP, Cincy has had Mark DiAntonio, Brian Kelly (Diaco served on that staff), Butch Jones, and Tommy Tubberville. Four different head men since 2004. Yet during that time Cincy has gone to 9 bowl games, including 2 back-to-back New Year's Six/BCS bowls (Orange- '09 & Sugar- '10)... And UConn has just gotten worse and worse every season it seems like with little consistency on the field from year to year.
My question is this really just all Paul Pasquloni's fault?
One was at home one was a sellout homecoming. So yes i would say improvement.41-0 vs. Cincy last year vs. 37-13 this year. Improvement, stagnation, or have we gotten worse?
If you think there hasn't been improvement over the last two years then it might be time to get your prescription checked.
This team shows all the signs of a young, inexperienced football team - players and coaches included. Dumb penalties, untimely turnovers, questionable play calls. Yes, it's tough to sit and watch right now, but this team actually *looks* like a football team now. Not a good one, but better than the last few years. The players are getting bigger and faster. They're playing with heart and not giving up.
We can't expect to be world beaters halfway through year two. Progress takes time.
Diaco is recruiting bigger and faster players but can he coach them to win?
I don't need to check anything or relook
A 99% of those who posted here - when are the results coming? In our lifetime?
As I said - he is recruiting bigger and faster players but can he coach them to win?
