The Riverfront Recapture cited that the fireworks would be canceled due to health and safety concerns from the popular event where there was overcrowding along the waterfront. They did say that with recent budget cuts that the difficult decision to cancel the event was clear. The recent budget cuts referenced were from MDC, not the city of Hartford. [/QUOTE]
