Yes, the 1970s' NASL names with value continue as MLS' San Jose, Seattle, and Portland franchises. An unnamed "etc."? Nyet, at least now. However, MLS Orlando and MLS Miami won out over one name/city (Rowdies/Tampa Bay) MLS found less attractive (population, demographics, couldn't get act together?).
