Hartford Courant UConn Football Season preview

Today's Courant Headline is "Flipping the Script". Dom Amore's Article is spot on. Sean McFarland gives insight to player thinking as the team enters the season. Nice reads.

“Experience. Strength. A tired-of-losing mindset. It all looks good on paper and sounds good in press conferences. Against Fresno State, when the Huskies take the field for the first time in 637 days, they’ll finally see how much it has all paid off.”

I have never been this excited about and opening game as I am this year.

Yeah just to see if they resemble a legit FBS team again. We haven't really, since the 6-7 season, that concluded with the bowl loss to Marshall. I believe the key will be DL rotation. Can they hold the point of attack and create some pressure without having to over rely on blitzing? I expect the offense to be okay, but the defense needs to be legit and it has to start up front.

For me, if the LB can catch/tackle on first contact. Too many years of watching a ball carrier get the edge or catch a short pass only to see the safety dragging them down 15-20 yards downfield.
