It will be interesting to see what happens with Army brass if Kelsey actually makes the team. Such ex-Academy standouts as David Robinson, Roger Staubach and Alonzo Babbers (USAFA Gold Medalist 400M 1984) did not get an exception to their service commitment, nor even a deferral.

I saw on this board that the Army had approved her to play during the season if she makes the team and fulfill some of her Army commitment during the off-season. Not sure where the info originally came from, but I read it here.

Times have changed. She would be a huge recruiting asset.

The announcers mentioned this at the Final Four three point contest.

My buddies daughter just finished 4 years with KM at West Point. He speaks highly of the younglady on and off the court. I hope she makes the squad.

Actually, David Robinson was allowed to only serve two years on active duty in the Navy Civil Engineer Corps (he was commissioned the year after I was in the CEC) and the rest in the reserves, so that he could join the Spurs, but also make Public Service appearances for the Navy. The typical Naval Academy required commitment is five years in active duty.
