No matter how many times I watch our handful of buzzer beaters over the years, a very small part of me still gets anxious. Part of it could be my wife asking me why I’m constantly watching old UConn highlights. “How many times have you watched this!?”. Who knows.

It's pretty wild how late the Tournament has gotten.

The Sweet 16 was on March 19th in 1998. We're barely getting into the play-in games this year.

I mean, it's a week later this year for whatever reason. I remember watching Purdue lose on St. Patrick's Day last year.

I love every part of this and will watch it whenever I see it. Struck by two things:
1. Odd choice to run a set play for Jake in that situation.
2. During the mad scramble with the tips and the reaches and the craziness, there are four Huskies in the mix. Jake, on the other hand, is hanging out at the three-point line as a spectator.

This was the permanent memory that gave me instant certainty that when Shabazz missed his first end-of-game shot in the 2013 game against Florida, his follow-up would go in. And that extended to confidence going into to 2014 semi-final win over Florida.

And El Amin is the one who tips the missed shot back twice!

You think it would be earlier since it is a leap year. Guess calendar math does not work like that….

Although the Hartford weather in April is nicer for national championship parades!

Jake was fouled - clearly the fix was in - even back then the NCAA hated UConn...
