Chanukah is a relatively minor holiday on the Hebrew calendar, but it has risen in popularity so that Jewish kids can also get presents at this time of year and not feel slighted. However, today's celebrations are special because it's the first time in 125 years that Christmas and Chanukah have fallen on the same day. This, too, has no particular meaning. Christmas is celebrated on different months and days among various denominations, and Chanukah takes place on the Hebrew calendar, which mixes days from year to year.
But, all in all, it does feel like the best time of any year.
Best wishes to all Boneyarders for health, joy, and a 12th NC.
