January 27th, 1990 Harry A. Gampel Pavilion opened. We played #15 St. John's to open the building in front of about 8500 fans after moving over from the Field House for on campus games. That night was awesome and that team was amazing - setting the stage for everything that came after. Definitely need a piece of that original Gampel floor when they replace it in a few months. For you young'uns, go to TCF's stuff at the top of this page and you can find the replay of that opening night game. Happy 33rd Birthday Harry A. Gampel Pavilion!

I still have my Petro Pantry poster from that night. The plastic cup is around here someplace, too.

Happy birthday Gampel! Was at the opening, in fact it was the last home game I attended since the following day I moved to the west coast.

Not only have the poster and cup but still have the t-shirt and the ticket stub
I got the stub, but I don't recall getting a t-shirt. Were you a student then? Maybe it was just students.

Yes it was a big deal then we got so good everyone wished it could seat more people. Lots of great memories. Even though we lost it was still pretty loud on Wednesday.

Nope not a student
Now I feel cheated . . . 33 years later.

I still have a Husky Threes t-shirt that they used to throw into the stands. It's starting to wear out, but I must have another dozen UConn tees.

Not many shirts I don't have - a red one (thunk it was SNET) with autographs and a dunkin with autographs.
Also have multiple sets of all the basketball card sets handed out
