Yeah but this may turn out for the best, especially if he's seen this. Some players need or thrive off of extra motivation.

So lets hope this list gets to him!

If anything, I worry about Hamilton trying to do too much. He needs to stay within the offense. That's where he is most dangerous. I don't like to see him taking everything onto his shoulders.

He's also not listed in the latest mock drafts from ESPN, Draftexpress or NBADraft.net.

Do they have him in the 2017 Draft instead?

Either way, it's ridiculous to think that if he comes out this year, he won't be a 1st round pick.

It's funny, because usually its the opposite. We don't want them to go and come up with excuses why they aren't ready. But then we see the mock draft. Now, we expected him to go after this year and be a high pick, but he's no where to be found. Just weird.

Interesting, because I worry about him deferring too much. I think he's the best candidate on the team to the guy that puts the team on shoulders and takes over a game. I believe that he'll get there but it may not be this year.

Draftexpress have him #41 in 2017, while NBADraft.net have him at 31.

Kid's gonna have to get his shooting numbers up. Given what he's done to improve his free throw stroke, I've got confidence he can manage it.

i dont think hamilton was ever considered first round material this year, only goodman had him lotto in his wonky mock from this summer. Really would like him to start shooting the trey ball more consistently. I would have to imagine if he keeps the rest of his numbers afloat while hiking up his 3pa + % he would be one of the more productive players in ncaa.

The Swiss Army knife Dham is in mine, and Jon Rothstein's top 50 if that's any consolation.

He just stops passing when he tries to do too much. That was what he did last year. This year he is much more dangerous.

3% needs to come up, ability to finish at the hoop, and defensive awareness.

He's a talent, and he improved over the summer. But he still has very far to go to be the type of guy you could throw out there with confidence against the likes of Jimmy Butler or Bradley Beal, let alone the Hardens or Klay Thompsons of the world.

His defense is reprehensible. KO said its his 'off ball defense that needs work', but i consider that basically the most important part : team defense. Everybody needs to be on a string... He is just not a good defensive player at the moment, but i do have some optimism because of his competitiveness. he likes to be aggressive, most of the time to a fault.

Having said that there are ways to make up in other areas if you aren't a plus defender, the main one you noted is be an efficient offensive threat. He'd be much more intriguing if his 3pt% was lights out and he actually made an effort to shoot threes. he is shooting less threes this year than last. whenever he pump fakes off a nice pass from the weakside while wide open for a three, its like a dagger to my heart.

It feels like we're watching different players. Hamilton's first three instincts are to pass.

Incidentally, given the direction the NBA is heading in, I'm not surprised he's not considered a first rounder. Specialism seems to be more coveted at that level than diversity. Not that diversity isn't important, it's just that, typically, you're looking for elite skills and/or measurables rather than somebody who's well-rounded/polished. Hamilton isn't an elite athlete, isn't an elite shooter, doesn't have plus length, and projects as a tweener at the next level. I think he'll have to put up Evan Turner type numbers to go in the lottery.

We're not watching different players at all. I wrote that he is dangerous in that he has improved all facets of his game. But when he presses he dribbles, drives and shoots. In other words, I'm not talking about his play overall.

He's just not a shot maker yet. Hasn't found the shooting touch to take over games. He also needs to finish at the rim instead of throwing up an inordinate number of floaters.

He can hit shots, his mid range game is better than most at this age. He was really clutch at the end of last year too, especially in the AAC tournament, his problem is consistency, and he needs to be more assertive. He should take more than 8 or 9 shots a game
