Point guard remains a huge problem for this team. Gilbert is a disaster and there’s no relief for the poor kid. The pit is bottomless, but they need to stop relying on him so much.

Sid with the prettiest sequence in some time (we'll just forget about the turnover that preceded it).

There is just no good solution at PG. Gilby might be the best of the worst solutions. You can sit him and start BAdams or Gaff but then you know neither of them can initiate our offense (or what we call one) as well as AG. And you run the risk of completely cratering his confidence by doing so, further anyways. Ultimately Hurley is trying to win games so he's gonna go with the guy he thinks can give us the best chance at that. Gotta hope Cole has some Bazz in him.

i'm certainly guilty of writing him off after the DNPs but hopefully necessity is the mother of reinvention. he's only a redshirt sophomore after all.

Gilbert has to play, as his ball-handling is crucial. But his decision making in the lane is a coin flip, and that's a problem. But for next year I'd keep looking for another center, but also a point guard who can shoot.
