through the last 13 minutes of this game. This, I think, was a wise choice, made after 7 brutal 2nd half minutes that included the usual miserable offense, patchy defense, and of course, no rebounding. I've determined that this team is a hybrid of the 06 and 09/10 teams - talent of the Marcus led 06 team but the lack of effort or (insert many descriptors here) of the Dyson/Stanley team.
With that said, the team has officially hit the proverbial fork in the road. Either mail it in like the 09/10 team or try to make a push (on talent alone) like the 06 team. If they choose the latter, then JC needs to scrap this BS halfcourt offense and let them play ball, which is a sentiment shared by many others today. We don't win when things slow down. So, try something new. Get up more shots, more quickly, penetrate, press, you name it. Maybe a frenetic style is what this team needs. I can guarantee you that the product won't be worse.
Tough game to lose, period. Especially with the return of the Boatshow. I live in DC and still haven't decided if I'm going to the game on Wednesday. Any fellow BYarders that are going to be in attendance? If so, I may have to get a ticket.
Still love the UCONN Huskies!
