With so many on here griping about the offense...and with Malzahn on the hottest seat in college football next to Addazio...I'm really surprised no one has mentioned the possibility of him coming here as a OC with his connection to Benedict. The fact it is about as crazy a pipe dream as can be thought up hasn't stopped this kind of stuff from being proposed on here before.

Not gonna happen but that would be awesome. Would rather have him come here as the HC and move Diaco to DC.
If Diaco walks the walk, he would agree to switch if it was for better of team.

If HCBD walks what walk? The career suicide walk? The crazy person walk?

Malzahn is not coming to UConn to be anything less than a head coach, it's doubtful that someone better positioned than UConn wouldn't offer him a head coaching job anyway and HCBD is not voluntarily stepping down as head coach to allow Malzahn to come here.

Yeah, exactly. Bd would obviously never do that, and Malzahn is too big for us. He'd end up something like Kiffin at Bama

Haha... Hey if Diaco was getting paid $1.7 million a year to be DC, he'd probably do it!

Maybe we fire Diaco the day Malzahn is fired and fly him in the next day? Too bad the money isn't there.

If Malzhan was a little older, I could see it. But he's still only 50. The only way he'd ever come here is if he's decided to retire soon and just wants a low pressure job for 5-6 years.

DUH, you actually think anyone thinks HCBD would step down. And by walk the walk, my boy Diaco constantly talks about family and the players buy into their role. Kid is QB and changes to TE to help team; just sayin' easy to direct other guys to "do what's best for team", if AD came to him and said "really think you are great D coach but we would like to bring in new Head Coach for the betterment of team" why wouldn't a member of the UConn family agree?

Bill Belichick is the DEVIL!!!!

It needed to be said.
Agreed, but ironically enough, that game was exactly the style Diaco wants to play. Houstons offense couldn't get on the field because New England chewed up so much clock. I think it was like 10 minutes into the 3rd quarter before Osweiler got back on the field facing a 3 possession deficit. That's a tough mountain to climb.

Agreed. So all we need is for Bobby Red-Pants to morph into Bill Belichick, a QB as good as Tom Brady, and a Defense stocked with highly disciplined players who can play multiple positions in multiple sets. Sounds doable.

And if we could move the ball effectively on the ground and with short passes, long drives that chew up clock, it would be a perfect offense for us. But when you go 3 and out or can't get into scoring position or have to settle for 3 when you get into the Rd zone because you don't have a play to gain 1 yard well kit doesn't work nearly as well.
