I wanted to bring some attention to this country, especially after a recent negative, disparaging and incorrect comment made to me here about the country recently. It is a complex country? Yes. Difficult history? yes. But the people, by and large, are very kind. The food is tasty and affordable. There are many awesome things to see and enjoy and overall, I have enjoyed my time here. Questions are welcome!

Well I lived in Colombia for 3 years and my wife is from there so I would be happy to offer some hints if you do go there.

Guatemala is great, check out Semuc Champey in google, probably one of the most beautiful natural places I have seen.
