Guard Comparison 2024 to 2025

Big Ten POY-Juju Watkins, preseason AA, actual AA SoCal seeded 4th

All four lived up to the hype and performed. Below is the statistical look at their 2023-24 numbers compared to their 2024-25 numbers. The last two columns are Efficiency and WinShares. To me, there is one clear leader and one to four ranking but then again, I am biased. There is also one clear laggard.

Who is the clear laggard and what are you using to make this determination? If it's based solely on shooting percentages, then Watkins looks like she ranks fourth. However when looking at efficiency, points and/or win share, then it's Booker who ranks fourth.

I often wonder if Juju should be counted as a guard. She plays like one part of the time. But she also plays like a small forward or a wing part of the time. Maybe these categories don’t fit her all that well.

I am also struck by how her WS numbers lag behind Paige and Hannah, especially given her usage rate.
