When UConn is playing a team with seemingly more than one freshman, the tired excuses of "they're a young team", "what a job x coach is doing with so many young players".

I'm not speaking directly of craptastic intramural teams like BCU, but more like Rutgers, the Hall and last nighy WVU.

Last time I checked, Drummond just turned 18, Ryan and Daniels are freshman, and our grizzled starting lineup consists of one jr, AO, and 3 sophomores, Giff-eye, Bazz, Lamb, with the ubergeriatric Roscoe and Olander, both sophs, off the bench. Or at least Roscoe used to come in and play.

Let the announcers, pundits and coaches extravasate about the youth of the other team, so long as they remember that UConn is younger with better talent.

This is also a longwinded way of saying I wouldn't want to play UConn in the the first three (nee two) rounds of the NCAA's. It is a rock solid given this team advances to the sweet 16 come March.

It's really amazing how young this team is. Probably why so many see UConn as a team that can make a Final Four still, even with losses to Rutgers, Seton Hall and USF. Drummond's growth is amazing.

The perception that they aren't a young team comes from the NCAA championship last year.

But really, who gives a flute ... it's not going to change anything. Syracuse fans still make that stupid laptop joke to this day.

Quse fans should be doing a whole lot of STFU these days. Laptop jokes are old- boys giving lap dances jokes could be all the rage in 2112.

turds.

Our sophs were on the big national stage so there's some familiarity with college bball fans/media. Many on the team have two rings (including the BE), which automatically makes them seasoned.

We're young but not inexperienced. Some teams are both, which is an important distinction.

At the end of the Seton Hall game, fans were complaining that we left our players in to play against their underclassman. I said you realize that UConn is all underclassman excluding Oriaki who is a Junior right? The guy looked at me, paused, and said, 'um no I didn't'. Funny moment from a less than fun game.
