I will have to watch the replay of this game to determine how a team that shoots 49% to the opponents 31% can only win by three. Giving up 18 offensive rebounds must drive a coach nuts. And certainly does not beat better teams in tough games.

Offensive rebounds were the big one. Tulsa took 26 more shots than Phoenix. I have noticed that BG is often standing around the FT line or already heading down court before the rebound is secured and I've also noticed that BG's teammates are not rotating on defense when BG is providing help defense, thus leaving someone free to grab the offensive board.

It is interesting you say this about BG. I have only seen her play one WNBA game but have always wondered why she doesn't dominate the boards. She is about 8+ boards per game and only eighth in the league. I would think she has the skills to drastically decrease the opponents offensive rebound.

If I were coaching her I would have her focus more on rebounding than blocking shots.

She has never been great at establishing inside position and blocking out, 2 extremely important traits for rebounding.

There are times when I watch her and it seems as if she doesn't know where to go and just ends up floating around without putting a body on anyone. Maybe that will come with time but I am not sure that she has very good instincts when it comes to rebounding, although her instincts for blocking shots is incredible.
