I've always liked McDermott. He and Hurley have a connection off the court.

As he pointed out that he wanted to increase pace of play . Hurley and staff need to find improve on the transition defense and jacking up too many deep threes results in long rebounds and off they go .....

Josh Dix went for 21/8 on 6-10 from the floor and 3-4 from 3. A lot of them were tough shots and he definitely rolled his ankle in the second half. Kid was playing for something bigger and sometimes you just gotta tip your hat.

Nothing but respect for Coach McDermott. Great coach, does things the right way. Had a little blip with that accidental racial remark a few years ago but all in all seems like a good dude. Sad to see him leave if the rumors of his retirement are true.

Yes McDermott is a good guy but he is an excellent men’s basketball coach.

A non Creighton friend had an opportunity to to sit behind the Creighton bench one game and his observation was that if he had a son who could play at the Big East level then he would have Creighton on his son’s short list of schools. He said McDermott blended discipline in fatherly way.

McDermott’s teams are not good each year by coincidence.

I hope McDermott does not retire after this season as is rumored.
