very level headed, and its shown in his play on the court as of late

"When you're in high school, scoring 50, 60 points, averaging 33, you think you know it all," Boatright said. "When I got to this level I was coachable, but I always had something to say back. I started listening more and knowing I didn't know it all. I wasn't as good as I thought I was. So Coach Ollie said, 'open your heart and your ears so you can get better,' and I just started doing that."

I've always loved Boat's fearless play but he's become a much more cerebral and better player. Boat has really become a man this season.

He had that I sour puss for his 1st two years. He is much more of a leader

I suspect regardless of where he ends up playing ,the behavior he learned under KO will enable him to make a substantial living in the future.

Remember when people on this board were calling him a selfish player? Those days are long gone he is a team player now

It has certainly felt like there has been a difference in his attitude. Not sure he would have committed himself to becoming a stopper like he has recently last year...now he relishes it.

Its an old but great story, high school ballers feeling they are better than they really are. There's a graveyard of high school legends ('in their own mind'). Coaches like Calhoun, and now Ollie are one of the few that can penetrate that thick mindset.

Many other coaches feed into it, and actually continue to misinform their players. Sad because many have the potential to be great even at the next level. They get ruined by coaches who don't know how to tell them the truth or develop their potential.

Not sure how many other coaches could have penetrated our Chicago legend, but credit ours. Boat will be a star next year.

I'm impatient, how about if he is a star today? Not that it will matter because we are going to get pounded-- doomed be us.
