Likely licensing issues. They also removed "UCLA" from the UCLA player's jersey.

Maybe they have to pay the NCAA a certain fee for licensing and they figured that everyone already knows who HOFHCJC and KO are. Take it as a compliment.

UConn would have to approve he use of the name and would demand to be paid. Nothing odd about it.

Did not matter to me why they took out UCONN in the jerseys. Calhoun and Ollie are the few prominent faces of the UCONN brand. Find it unlikely that UCONN would not pop up in the minds of those who watch.
