Greetings to the Boneyard, Wayland Baptist University is a smaller sister university to Baylor University (among 5 other Baptist/Christian/Private Universities throughout Texas). Proud to have a brother and sister-in-law who teach/administer there. Thanks for posting this. the "Flying Queens" are a story of a small, sleepy West Texas town that attained excellence in the game at the national and international level. Plainview is located between Amarillo (northern panhandle) and Lubbock (central/southern panhandle)--a relatively smaller campus. You probably recognized the present coach as a former player on the TTech teams of Marsha Sharpe. And, "durn nee'er" (narrator) is solid Texan added to any description that comes close to perfection or damnation, depending on the needed nuance (aka "We durn nee'er hit that one out of the park" OR "We durn nee'er took a whuppin on that one." Of note to those of you who have followed the good and the tragic of Baylor University, today Baylor hired it's 15th President, Dr. Linda Livingstone (first woman to be President), a former faculty member at Baylor, then distinguished Management professor/Dean at Pepperdine, then to Dean at George Washington University, and now President of Baylor-- a 4 year letter winner for Oklahoma State Women's bball 35 years ago and avid fan of the game. In small steps, Baylor is trying to be serious about changing the tragic good ole boy culture of Football/Briles that turned it's head from acknowledging a growing culture of violence. President Livingstone has the right kind of advocacy of major college athletics sans the insensitivity to abuse/Title IX issues.
