Shabazz Napier
Unlike Ennis, there’s no doubt about Napier’s jumper; he’s one of the best shooters from deep in this year’s draft class. The doubt surrounding Napier involves his ability to attack the rim and finish at the hoop in the NBA. He struggled close to the basket, and of all the players I evaluated, he exhibited the lowest conversion rate inside 8 feet, making only 49 percent from that area last season. Still, as Steph Curry has proven, you don’t have to be an elite finisher to be a great point guard in the NBA, especially if you can shoot the lights out.

but isnt the nba game more spread out? i also feel bazz felt like he had to attack the rim regardless of the number of defenders around the rim... he has everything else you want and if you get him on the right team real need to worry about this when he can get the assists

Yeah. Bazz needs a floater but he will also have better bugs who can catch and finish.

Feels like he needs to add a floater to his game. Still, this wouldn't concern me much if I were thinking about drafting him. He's going to make his living from 15 feet and out.

I feel like, with the spacing in the NBA, when he gets a full head of steam towards the basket, he's going to have an open man to dish it off to more often than in college. Where he really needs to improve is finishing through contact; gonna be tough to succeed in the Association if you rely almost exclusively on your jump shot.

His efficiency beyond the nba three point line is remarkable . He took a lot of shots in the paint , he will be able to dish off to better teammates , and pick + choose his floaters more. Really can't wait to see what team he goes to

Anybody know if shots while drawing fouls were negated? I would be surprised if his points per possession weren't well above average.

Shots taken while fouled only count if they go in.

definitely on the floater, that's the next shot he needs to add to his arsenal. when I see how easily he got this one off at the 30:38 mark of this vid, it seems like a shot he would be able to convert if he incorporated it into his game.

When Bazz went to the rim, his purpose was to draw contact and get to foul line. He didn't get a lot of calls that he should have. So,while he was blocked and missed shots, his goal was to get to the foul line. Lebron saw that and that was just one reason he wanted Napier. Creating fouls on you opponents is important to playing winning NBA basketball. Another thing Nolan and Brimah fumbled at least three assist a game from Bazz. Bosh and James won't be fumbling the ball, they will be jamming ii in the hole.

Perhaps his inability to finish at the rim had something to do with the fact that we didn't have any bigs for him to dish to for most of the season.

I wonder how much of that interior inefficiency had to do with a lack of quality big man presence to attract defenses from him. Anyway, the NBA will show that he is better in that area than last year showed.

And also no bigs to keep the interior defenders honest. I mean our frontline wasn't the type that would make a big consider staying all with his man and hoping Shabazz's defender got the job done

Bazz couldn't finish inside because he had no one to dump it to in the post. And every team knew it. That all changes in the League. Lebron will open lanes for him as wide as the panama canal.
