"He has very, very quick reactions, he sees it and he goes,” Pasqualoni said. “He kind of pulls the trigger and he is gone. It doesn’t take him a long time to process stuff which is a big part of playing the linebacker position. It’s your reactionary instinctiveness and not ‘oh, what was that and then I go.’ He is very intense and very compact. He is powerful, and he is explosive at the point of attack. When he meets the block, there is strength and explosiveness. We have to see how he does but it is encouraging.”

This young man is the real deal. For those that like watching defense, keep an eye on the duce.....

This isn't a cast off transfer. He got playing time as a true frosh at Florida. Extremely excited to add his speed to the d.

Has he fully recovered from his injury? Having a "weakened" pectoral is not ideal for a LB who makes a lot of tackles. If yes, great news. If "time will tell" then I worry about a Lutrus redo - never quite the same player in his last two years (compared to outstanding frosh & soph seasons) because of injuries.

I really wonder what Lutrus' NFL impact would have been if not for the injuries later in his UCONN career. Smartest linebacker we have ever had (that is saying alot with some of the solid linebackers we have had, specifically Alfred Fincher). Lutrus just knew the game, read defenses great, and was always in the right spot, especially in the passing game. And a great open field tackler.
