Respect you as a competitor, but tired of your attitude. Good luck in the WNBA.
100% Right!Could those of you who don't like her 'tude kindly explain how it differs from that of the great Diana? Or Jen Rizzotti, for that matter?
Not to mention Kobe, Melo, Roger Clemens, Ray Lewis, Keith Hernandez, and other competitors and team leaders.
Not every great team leader can chirp as sweetly as Sue Bird. Which may be Sue's most amazing achievement, far more unique than her strictly basketball accomplishments.
Skylar went out with class. No excuses and no whining. She managed to stay strong even though she knows she did not play well. I don't think I would have been composed enough to speak to a reporter so soon after what has to be her toughest loss. I also think it was classy of Geno to praise her and tell her not to let this loss define her career.
I think her attitude is something that Geno would have loved to have had on his teams over the last four seasons. He talked during the news conference tonight about the fact that UConn has only one player with any kind of attitude and that has hurt the team. He wants to have players with that "killer" instinct and the only player close to that is Bria Hartley who though good isn't close to the best player on the court normally. So I agree that Skylar's attitude might have really helped UConn in games where the difference in a possession or two would have probably put a couple of more titles on the books for this team. All of you might disagree, but I think UCONN would be playing for their fifth N.C. in a row if Skylar was a Husky? I put all her other stuff aside, she is a great player and will do well in the WNBA.
As Geno alluded to tonight, in almost every game she's ever played against us, she hasn't put up good numbers but seemed to somehow make the steal or the assist or the 3 point shot that was the dagger through our heart! Her shooting percentage against UConn all year has been awful but she's managed to contribute in other ways to help the Irish win.Diggins is a great competitor, and I appreciate her talent and her collegiate career...
but I'd be lying if it I didn't say I'm darn glad to see her go. She's killed us over the years.
Regardless, ND will still be dangerous next year, even without her.
Well to be honest I don't really like any of them. Not to mention Kobe, Melo, Roger Clemens, Ray Lewis, Keith Hernandez, and other competitors and team leaders.
Very well done.Admittedly, it surprised me how well Diggins handled this loss. From the handshake line to the post game presser she was terrific and classy (she picked up a question for McBride who was too emotional to speak). This had to hurt her A LOT and although I will never be a big fan (unless she ever ends up in the Sun lineup) a tip of the cap to her... well done.
