Looking for a place to grab a bite to eat between sessions tomorrow. Kind of craving steak, not the usual thing I get during the BE Tourney and I don't eat in Hartford often. Anyone able to recommend anything?

I expect the restaurants will be busy, but not like they will be on Sunday.

Max's on Asylum has good steak and it is in walking distance of the civic center. It is on the expensive side though. If you like Mexican, Agave Grill is quite good (and they have a steak dish on the menu). It is on Allyn street, directly behind the civic center.

Morton's steakhouse at State House Square is all about steaks. It's an easy walk from the XL Center. I've never been to the one in Hartford, but the one in Chicago is excellent.

You may need to bring two wallets to pay.

Only two? I wasn't aware they cut their prices.
But you don't need to worry about your steak being tough as a wallet.

According to their website, they don't open until 5:00.

I was referring to the wallets of those drinking 30 to 50 year old Scotch.

That would be a problem...

If you crave a steak I can't help you. I can tell you that if I were in your situation I would park in the big lot hooked up to the Hilton Hotel (and the XL Center) and dine in the always open restaurant in the hotel. While eating, get my/your parking ticket validated (worth ten bucks).

The menu is limited (especially on busy nights since they delete the "spaghetti your way" item) but the food is excellent. So if you forsake the steak you gain a lot of convenience and a little thrift.

I recommend Max Downtown on Asylum Street, just around the corner from XL Center. It's one of the best restaurants in CT and has a full menu. It's not cheap, but it's good. You will not be disappointed.
