I know I am not alone in wishing the Mountaineers the best against Stanford. I will miss Mike Carey and his team in the Big East, and hope they can make a big stand in the Big 12. But first I want them to give Stanford all they've got!

And I would REALLY like to see Jeff Walz's team tip the turtle! Go Cardinals!

My contrarian viewpoint:

• Conference pride/comraderie after a hard-fought regular season and league tournament is reasonable and appropriate, BUT
• IF, IF, IF UConn makes it to Denver, UConn-ND Part 4 and UConn-Baylor Part 2 are not matchups I especially relish, so
• I have to root for the teams that stand the best chance of beating ND and Baylor, and those teams are Maryland and Stanford, respectively. Having said that,
• I will be happy for WVU and/or Ville if they pull off the upset.
