Good hurley interview

Wow, he said that he was wrong and that it wasn't a foul. Poured on the compliments for the ref too. I guess that's what he has to say, but I think that he said all the right things.

Gaffney could have thrown him under the bus by saying there was contract, but didn't. Hurley can be a hot head, but I'm sure he understands that.
 
Notable to me that he did not mention the failure to efficiently attack the 1-2-2 zone against Marquette, nor the inability to stop the dribble-drive against Creighton as factors in the poor outcome.

Don’t really understand why so many people are saying we did a poor job attacking their zone. I rewatched the 2nd half and the played zone on ONE possession. What they did is they disguised it at the beginning of each possession and quickly fell back into a man to man

Good interview? Nothing remotely new here and he wasn’t going to add fuel to a fire that could hurt us with the refs. Fanta’s high voice pitch is annoying always and especially when he starts screaming during games.

I don't know that that was a certainty. The fact that it didn't happen makes it a good interview. In all honesty, Manning up, taking responsibility for it, and throwing a little love back at Gaffney after he didn't have Hurley suspended is a good, strategic, and surprisingly mature, look.

Particularly given that Gaffney is absolute dogisht as a ref.

I'll be very interested to see their interaction the next time he refs one of our games. Particularly, seeing what is and is not called.
