Poor tackling and lead feet.

Shoulder hits instead of chest, wrap, lock and twist on D and feet planted in the ground rather than moving on blocks.

That's why we lost. They did fundamentals a little bit better. Not by much. Otherwise very evenly matched and well coached game.

6-7. Improvement. Not winners yet.

Diaco's not going anywhere except the recruiting trail, and this game, this season, was good improvement and good for recruiting.

On to 2016.

After a month long layoff, fundamentals were not sound today. Yet had a chance to win late.

Diaco & staff need to camp outside Newtown HS starting tomorrow. Convince the kid that he can become a savior here!!!! Or just be a somebody at Ohio State by his 5th year.

Which kid from Newtown, or any CT high school, will become a savior for UCONN? One kid?

Look. Biggest defensive play of game I think, senior Adams turn his shoulder and into a hit and an arm tackle attempt run through, rather than chest contact, wrap, lock and twist to make the tackle.

Early on. 3rd and short. Newsome tackled in backfield because a guard makes decent contact off the snap, but doesn't keep feet moving and DT hand fights around him into backfield.

Simple aspects of football. We got beat. When a senior safety is doing that in tackling, the time for teaching and drilling fundamentals is long passed. When a young OL can't move their feet fast enough, you hope it's a coachable problem.

Either way you need to recruit.

Both examples were not unique in game.

Poor lanes and contain and tackling in kick coverages too.

This game was lost because we were the poorer team in basic football fundamentals.

I honestly can't point to anything g good today - it was a dismal showing.
