Actually opened at Gonzaga -3 yesterday (and -162/+136 moneyline). Now down to -2 and -130/+110. I think we're getting a lot of credit for MSG because Gonzaga has looked like a considerably better team so far. They've killed Baylor and Indiana, also beaten SDSU and ASU. Their two losses were in overtime to Kentucky and WVU after blowing second half leads.

And they've scored a ton in all of them. The total is 152, with an implied score of like 77-75. I'm feeling the Over here, at least for Gonzaga's team total.

I think Gonzaga wins by double digits. I hope I’m wrong. Mahaney needs to score 15+ for us to have a chance.
This.you could be right or very wrong as you say. Who knows? Any Vegas odds on this uconn team are so arbitrary. Vegas has no precedent for DH. No team has grown more quickly than DH Husky teams. I can prove it: almost every uconn tourney game line was so egregiously wrong over the past two years.
It gives me great pleasure to say, when it comes to UConn bball, Vegas don't know Jack sh

I think the keys to the game are:

1. Can we keep Sampson/Reed on the floor for 40 minutes. Loved what Singare gave us last game, but this is a totally different animal. Gonzaga's strength is their bigs. We need to neutralize as best we can with our bigs in the game.

2. Our offense v.s their defense. I know everyone is worried about our defense v.s. Gonzaga, and rightfully so. Gonzaga's offense is rated 2nd in the country. I will point out ours is 4th. I also think our defense has been a little better than the numbers indicate. I don't think Top 100 teams will continue to shoot 48% from deep.

3. Make Nembhard work hard in the halfcourt on BOTH ENDS. He's a great player who thrives in transition. Loves the PnR game, but make him have to defend on the other end. The last two years we have beaten Gonzaga because a) they haven't shot it well, and b) they have really struggled in their halfcourt man to man defense.

Gonzaga deserves to be favored, but this is essentially a road game for them. Let's take advantage.

If we play defense like we did in the first half versus Baylor, it's a tough road.

If we play defense like we did in the first half against Texas, it's a pleasant evening.

MSG, DH ratcheting up the rotation.

Hassan disrupts Nembhard on his turf
Have the meat to limit Ike (top scorer and rebounder), may be a game Tarris sees more minutes
Keep Battle from penetrating, he’s been ice cold from 3

Need a big game from Hassan on both sides today, Velcro on D and in control on O, limit turnovers.

Few goes deep in his front court, with no one averaging over 20 minutes, as he really uses the bench. This feels like the kind of game we don’t want turning into a track meet.

Feels like one of those games where the 3 ball will dictate the winner. Huskies by 3.

Best 5 strategy feels like Reed vs Ike and Samson Johnson vs backups. Lets see.

We aren’t going to shut them down so we need our big shooters (AK, Liam, Solo) to be on their game tonight to be able to outscore them.

Also hoping Mahaney can give us something since he is so familiar with playing against these guys.

Hass is obviously critical, including his D on Nembhard.

Reed and Johnson need to stay in the game…really hope the officials let them play for once instead of all the ticky tack fouls they’ve been calling all season. I hope Singare gets a few minutes in the first half. I’d rather preserve Samson Johnson and Reed for crunch time and not watch them foul out and hope Singare can hold Zags bigs in final minutes.

Shouldn't make make sweeping generalized statements, but also hard to not think Hass is the key to this one.

The keys to us beating any elite team this season are
1) bigs staying out of foul trouble
2) shooting well from 3

If we do these two things we can beat anybody on a given night
