- First 4 points from Reed. Why does this feel familiar? Feels like we feed him the ball early and then kind of forget about him.
- I'm sorry, but our point guard should never get cleanly intercepted on an inbounds pass under his own bucket.
- Stewart is becoming my favorite player on this team. Comes in off the bench and usually has an immediate impact. Feels like Hurley has a pattern with Jaylin's minutes. He usually comes in around the 13 minute mark and plays 6 or 7 minutes, then comes in late in the half -- 3 minutes or so -- and finishes out the half. Similar pattern in the 2nd half, except if we're up big, his 2nd stint will be shortened by mercy minutes for the guys who don't get off the bench too often.
- Seemed like we lost focus at about the 5 minute mark in the first half and let them back into the game a bit.
- Early in the 2nd half, looking better -- still not great, but better.
- Feels like every time Demary sits and Smith comes in, Marquette makes a run.
- Fortunately, when Stewart came in, we went off on another run of our own. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.
- At 7:31, score was 58-38. Reed makes two FTs. scoreboard still says 58-38. 7:06, bucket for Marquette. Score shows 58 to 40. What the hell happened to Reed's FTs? They finally entered them after Mullins' 3 at 6:34.
- Marquette finished with 9 dimes to our 16, and 37 rebounds to our 49.
- UConn shooting percentages 43, 21 & 67. Marquette's, 32, 21, 63 as both teams were a pitiful 21% from 3.
- We did get 22 points out of the center position, which was nice, and Solo, Reed and Demary shot reasonably well. Solo seems to have settled in on driving to the hoop for much of his output instead of jacking up too many 3 point attempts.
- All in all, it was an ugly game. Glad we won, but we'd better start playing a lot better in a hurry.
