So I am retiring soon. :D I would like to go to more of the games. However, the drive there and especially back is a deterrent, especially for night games.
I am surprised that UConn or some company in association doesn't run buses from major cities. Or do they and I haven't found them?
It would seem that they could easily fill some buses and many of us would buy more tickets if it was as easy as going to a commuter lot in a major city and hopping on a bus! I would suggest it to UC but I don't know who/how...

There is a bus company that runs trips to many away games such as Providence, Rutgers, Seaton Hall and Gtown. I have gone many times and it was a good time. I will try to find info and post later for you.

I'm thinking he means home games. Interesting idea; I don't think the demand is probably there to make it work.

And the down side of the breakup of the old BE conference is that many more away games are much further away. True in the American and likewise in the B1G for Rutgers. The cities you mention were all - or could be - 1 day bus trips for both schools. Now, I think your closest conference team is Temple? and for Rutgers the only reasonable in-conference games would be Maryland and Penn State.

Of course, Rutgers tends to play some local schools OOC (Princeton, particularly) and I don't know but assume that some of UConn's Hartford and Holy Cross games are away?.

Yes, I meant home games. I would think that a bus could make a few stops in cities and fill up - at least for the more popular games. Especially since many of the fans, um, skew older - like me. But maybe I think others are interested because I'm interested!
The downside of all the televised games is that it is harder to get motivated to drive an hour + each way in unpredictable weather to see the game live. I would be more likely to pay a bit for a bus ride with other fans from a convenient city.

You should try a local senior center.
Many of them offer various trips, and are usually looking for ideas.
But they'd probably need 20-25 people each paying $20-25, or more.
