Georgia Hires Coach Abe [Merged Thread]

I just read an article somewhere on her. It seems like she kind of fell into the assistant job there. Not sure how motivated she is to be a head coach. I doubt she moves to Georgia, so wouldn't surprise me to see her land with the new staff at UCF whenever they are put in place.

She also has said how surprised she was by much how she was enjoying coaching. Don't know if she would want the HC job, but UCF is a year or two from becoming a B12 team so it should be an attractive job for someone.

Don't forget UCF has 8 seniors on the team. 4 are starters.

Granted UCF will be in the Big12 next year or the year after, but that team is now in a rebuild mold. Attractive, maybe.

BTW: 3 Kentucky starters are in the portal....starters! Just a few days after their great win over South Carolina...they
apparently are out of there. Anyone have any idea what is going on?

but “Coach Abe” spent a lot of time talking about how good the AAC is....
“ always was, always will be…“

Check out the transfer portal thread

So does this mean in her presser when she said she didn’t want hear any questions about Connecticut it was because she was really thinking about Ray Charles?

It could be fun to watch the new GA beat up TN and SC.. .
Not for several years. Unless some take Covid years and she gets some good transfers and recruits, 4-8 seniors with graduate and Coach Abe will have her hands full.

One of the articles about her hiring mentioned that her husband is a basketball referee at the college and pro levels. I'm thinking that he may have educated her about how players can be very physical without getting called for fouls.

It was mentioned during the UConn-UCF game that both teams are among those whistled least among all teams in Division 1. Given the way UCF plays, that is a real accomplishment.

I read on the internet that northern Georgia is a rock hound’s paradise.
