Either Nowell or Mahaney have to play because Diarra can't play 40 a game.  Neither deserves to be in the game based on performance.   Mahaney is better and Nowell is more of an unknown but I haven't liked what I've seen from Nowell so far even with the freshman allowances.   He couldn't beat Mahaney in practice and is only seeing time now because of Mahaney's play.

I would count on either for minutes next season but as things stand come tournament time, it's Mahaney over Nowell.   Nowell has a couple more games to change that but neither is going to help much.  It's now about hurting less.

Our offense is now Reed inside, Ball outside, McNeeley as much as we can get. AK as the 3rd/4th option glue guy and whatever the defense gives Diarra.

It's a far cry from bulletproof but Hurley needs to lean into that and gameplay around the best 2 opponent matchups.

Then pray that the defense, rebounding, and turnover numbers are good enough to allow a win.
