Georgetown Post Game Thread - Reed Double Double

I saw a lot of what ailed this team in New Jersey and Providence follow it to DC
People here say working on things but is it being done

Every team is jacked against us. Beating UConn is like winning the Superbowl for them. Imagine how hard it is for our guys to match the intensity of these "have-nots" they're up against.
We complain often how down the Big East is this year.

The only opportunity for a signature win, at this point in the season, is for a conference mate to beat either UConn or St John's.

Maybe we are their "Superbowl". But, in reality these 2 teams offer the only path to redemption.

Beating Marquette, Butler or De Paul just doesn't move any needles.

Either rack up a win against UConn and/or St John's, or win out in the BET.

Those are the only paths to the Tournament for most of the conference.

One more thing to consider....

Most years we budget for how many losses we will have by the end of conference play.

Typically a road game or 2 or 3 against the recognized top teams in the league. And they there is that other budgetary factor....

The WTF-L.

Yesterday we experienced that vanishing rare phenomenon, the WTF-W.

And so we complain bitterly.

Nuts!

Was out of town and just caught a replay. I’ve said this a few times this year, this team tries so hard to lose but still finds a way to win. Ugly W but a W nonetheless

Tarris Reed was the best player in the universe for the first 6ish minutes. That was really fun to watch even if the rest of the game was meh

I thought Silas was great. Limited in the first half because of foul trouble but controlled it in the second and came up big. I thought Stew played well too

The defense was strong all game. That’s why we won. ROUGH offensive showing by Solo/AK/Braylon. Although Solo did come up with important second half points and AK hit that clutch three. What was up with those 0-4 FTs though?

Lots of negative feelings in the UConn universe right now, but at the end of the day we walked away with a W, a #2 AP ranking, and an 18-1 (8-0) record. Let’s go Huskies!
