Totally agree, way too many unbelievably great players over the years.
He has often said that the Drought was driven by injuries and no bench. Look at his bench last year which was KK, Ash, Aubrey and Ice and the difference it made. This year it is K9, Allie, Blanca and Jana. Very strong and they are really hitting it now.

It's by position so is Sarah a 3? It may sound like heresy but if Sarah wins 4, I think she takes over the 4 position.

No disrespect intended Oldude but imho...athletically and statistically Maya is singularly the greatest player I've ever seen play at UConn.....im sure I'll get Flamed for this but thts my opinion.

So who does she replace if she has a career that potentially exceeds Maya’s and matches Stewie’s 4 championships, or are we all just assuming that Geno’s all time starting 5 is set in stone?
If she exceeds Maya and matches Stewie thn she replaces *** I can't even think it never mind say it 🤭

Geno and the coaching staff will figure this all out. But, right now, it is my personal opinion that the Starting 5 needs to be Azzi, Sarah, KK, Ashlynn, and Jana El Alfy. First in off the bench most definitely is Blanca, followed by K9, then Allie and Serah Williams.

I hope some will listen to his comments at about 10:55. We have people that think it’s “title or bust” every year. And with that they’ll use emotional player comments from 20+ year olds to try to justify the point that it’s some failure or not satisfying if they don’t win it all.
Heck, listen to Azzi from her interviews. One specific game she spoke of how she only got one or no rebounds. Do I care as a fan if Azzi only got 1 rebound when her team is winning by 40-50 points? What Geno says is more insightful for me than Azzi making a publc comment that she only got 1 rebound. I don't need to be told to that level that she is trying to be a perfectionist then hold that perfectionist personality against her. That's not how I becamse a fan or think now when I watch a game. . And below as a fan that grew up watching UCONN in the Yankee Conference and used to watching them get destroyed for quite a while in the Big East- this is much more appropriate as to how I feel during Auriemma’s run in Wcbb:

I’d like to hear his “positionless” team, players that played multiple positions. Napheesa playing as an undersized 5, when she was really a 4 or 3, has to be on that team. Not repeating any of Geno’s 5 by position, I’ll take in their prime Paige, Sarah, Napheesa, Gabby and Nykeesha. Might just give the Mt. Rushmore team all they could handle.
