I can't believe that the Mirage let something like this happen. It is shameful and the State should investigate how this fell through the cracks, and fine anyone that had a hand in this debacle. There were 5 different basketball tournaments in Las Vegas this past weekend and the Mirage is the only one that was not prepared for it.

Why would the State get involved? I think the State has more important issues to devote their time instead of a basketball tournament gone bad. The NCAA and the schools need to do a better job of backgro checking out the people/companies that put on these tournaments.

The reason why the State should get involved is because a player from Auburn was laying on the floor for over a half hour with a neck injury waiting for medical help. They had no medical personnel at the event and it took paramedics that long to get there. The game was delayed for over an hour with only 4 minutes left to play. Fortunately the player was evaluated at the hospital late Saturday night and was cleared to travel Sunday morning with the team.

IMO that is still not a state issue. Seems more like a venue/tournament promoter /Conference/NCAA issue. The last thing you want is to get the politicians involved.

It is a state issue due to they violated a state law that requires that all sporting events high school level or above require that qualified medical personnel be present. Politicians would not be involved with investigation, most likely the State gaming board and State health department, the gaming board because it happened on a casino property and health department to see if the license of tournament promoter should be pulled from holding any events in the State of Nevada.
