"Among the participants in the summit are Connecticut coach Geno Auriemma, Oklahoma's Sherri Coale, Louisville's Jeff Walz, Notre Dame's Muffet McGraw, Tennessee's Holly Warlick and Stanford's Tara VanDerveer. Longtime women's basketball referee Dee Kantner also will participate."

With Geno, Muffet, Doug Bruno, CVS and Jeff Walz, that's 5 from the "old" BE attending.

And anyone doubts that the old BE was one great WBB conference??

This will be no surprise, but the decision to allow the top 16 seeds to host first two rounds passed unanimously about ten minutes ago.

That's a helluva lot of people to gather to meet and talk and try to get things done.

Someone (Geno?) should take the approach Red Auerbach did in the old NBA days. Every year they held a big meeting of all the GM's to discuss rules changes, policies, etc. In Red's book ("Let Me Tell You a Story") he explains how all his motions got passed. He would never bring any issue up until about 4:30 p.m., when conferees were tired, talked out, and THIRSTY. Knowing that it was easier for them to go along with Red (and get to the bar!) than argue, he always got little advice and lots of consent.

It was supposed to be a "white clipboard" summit, but, they couldn't find one that was...intact....

There is excitement in the room surrounding the idea of joining all 3 divisional championships at the same tournament site. #WBKBChange

As I understand it, this would combine DI, DII and DIII finalists at one site.

Ugh.
This did this for the men's tournament this year, and it meant 2+ weeks between the semis and the finals. And with the women's tourney being pushed a week later ...

Part of the point of D-3 is to maintain a normal sense of a season, so as to not interfere with silly things like classes.
