Victory in the season opener put Geno back in the unique position where he was before last April's NC game -- the only women's coach with 1000 more victories than losses in his coaching career. At the close of last season, Geno's remarkable win-loss record had been accomplished in 37 seasons -- fewer than any of the other top 10 winningest coaches of all time (cf. Tara [43 years], Pat [38], Barbara [43], Viv [50], Sylvia [44], Muffet McGraw [38], Jim Foster [40], Jody Conradt [38], Andy Yosinoff [44] and Robin Selvig [38]).
