But for the players to know what to do at any moment, depending on where they are on the court, where the rest of the team is, what sort of set is being run, what the defense is doing, where they are in the shot-clock -- all of this takes a ton of practice. These are trained responses, not decisions reflected on in the moment. And it's all very unit-specific. You have to know what the other players out there expect and what to expect from them.
