So now we know that we are better than ND and are confident we are better than SC & Duke.
What don't we know? How good are our answers here, of course.

1.._____ the _______ records the eruption of Vesuvius in 79.

2..What's Herman Helleruth's claim to fame?

3..The Iraqi Prez has uncovered 50K "ghost soldiers". Explain.

4..Besides Canada, another nation(?) has Prince Edward Island(s), a penguin habitat.

5..A subset of algebra is called B______.

6..A '69 film, RING OF BRIGHT WATER, has an animal(?) star.

7..U.S. counties--3141, 2232, 1899, 4112, 4705, or 5231?

8..Ed ____ Iowa

9..Among Putin's problems, a province(?) re-erupted last week.

10..A former NBA player is on a postage stamp. Who?

11..After a Prez veto, what % of Congress is needed to pass the bill?

12..Word play: a famous NFL receiver is "sculpture-abbot".

13..A new film. STILL ALICE, starring Julianne Moore is about the tragedy of..?

6. The movie was on TCM a few nights ago. I didn't watch it, but if I recall correctly the listing for the movie mentioned an otter. So right or wrong, that's my answer: an otter.
8. Ed Ames Iowa.
10. Wilt the Stilt Chamberlain. The post office introduced two different stamps with Wilt's image. The stamps are taller than normal to accommodate his height.

1..Fix Pinot, as he has the wrong generation.

2..Before Herman joined the Hermits:rolleyes:, he invented a vote-tabulation machine, then went on to found this mammoth
corporation(?), that later had a long-term Prez who was Sherlock Holmes' buddy.

3..Waq specifies a huge corruption problem.

4..Who would have thought that VAUC was a penguin expert?

5..Pony & VAUC deserve our boola-boolas.

6..Don't select any otter animal, cause rbny's got it.

7..I applaud VAUC's willingness to guess, but it's selection a). Now you are armed for party games with this useless knowledge.

8..Waq does an amazing job at squeezing a 9-letter city into a space for 4. Could anyone tell me who Ed Davenport is?
Anyway, rbny & VAUC are proper with Ames. You remember Ed Ames, right.?

9..A mostly Muslim area that has erupted with violence in the recent past. You know this.

10..The Stilt himself; VAUC & rbny acknowledge we'll be licking his behind.

11..2/3 will do it...just VAUC here? No wonder polls always show we don't know shinola about civics.

12..Pinot sifts through my foolishness and comes up with the Washington guy, and VAUC is proud of the silly ol' bear.

13..Early-onset type, like Pat Summit. Waq has this.
