The omissions...

3..It refers to hunting an edible.

4..Stay away from Europe.

20..According to Kibitzer, you need a brother act here.

22..The ______ Double.

23..The word is one of 2 in a Cole Porter title.

So, your usual 18-20 correct on the first go-round. What a stable crop you are.

I'm sure this was discussed earlier, but can someone enlighten me as to our poster point system. I lingered at 90 for weeks, then suddenly rose 600%. Huh?

Let's celebrate your adroitness. Unless you'd rather celebrate your perspicacity.

1..VTC & geordi can switch from Spanish to Italian sehr gut..Vai con Dio.

2..Kibitzer with the village in "Fiddler".

3..Truffle hunter...or other rare mushrooms.

4..Japan's Seikan Tunnel is 33 miles.

5..When was ed4 first out of the gate? Not in memory, but he has Ivanhoe.

6..You could say "21", as Ruffian did, or $64K as a bunch of you did.

7..Rbny has Peter Lynd Hayes & Mary Healy, the couple who ruled Romania
and were executed on Christmas day. No, no, I think I'm off here.

8..VTC & NCor argue for past due debts, but to be complete, "judge ordered" should be added.

9..The phonograph, say VAUC & 2 others.

10..Not Sue Ellen, but J.R's sister-in-law & her sister Kristin. I won't name the posters here,
since I know they are embarrassed that they hang on night time soaps.

11..Brunelleschi is the architect. With various spellings are VTC, geordi & NCor.

12..Dark energy and dark matter, ed4 & NCor our closet physicists.

13..Rbny (as I knew he would) scores with Rigoletto.

14..The jailed Watergate burglar who started a fruit company. See Meyers...or VTC.

15..Kibitzer has Elizabeth Warren.

Is there no one to explain the point system?

16..UPink, the infamous alter ego, is most complete...We'll Sin (hee hee) in the Sunshine by Gale Garnet.

17..Permian Extinction

18..No one quite has the sense of, "Move your asses right quick", but pap & NCor are real close.

19..VTC, VAUC & pap with "Do not disturb".

20..Bee Gees

21..Gerald Phelan say rbny & NCor.

22..The Devil's Double

23..You can tell ed4 needed time with this one and got Finian's Rainbow.

24..Swell (as in "Thou Swell")

25..Strictly speaking Mycenae is a place, and the people have 5 vowels (Mycenaeans), but it is beneath me
to so quibble. So OK to NCor. Geordi has the Ionians, so as not to tempt me to quibble.

WC - CAn you give the source of your "pop smoke" answer "move your asses . . ."? I've never heard the phrase used in that context.

Seems "pop smoke is more associated with using a smoke gernade to signal an aircraft (helicopter) primarily for marking a landing zone (LZ) for evacuation, however, marking the enemy for an airstrike is a possible meaning as well. Airstrike could be from Phantoms or Huey Cobra gunships. Evacuations typically require cover fire from air support. If you are one of guys on ground under enemy fire, then I maintain your definition is "bug out!"
.
Possibility 1 : pop-a-smoke set off "brightly colored smoke gernade" to aid in locating troops to aid or airlift.
Possibility 2 : retreat
Possibility 3 : List of United States Marine Corps acronyms and expressions
Possibility 4 : Signal an aircraft
