14. As an aside, the answers to 14 are correct but the dog was never meant to "come down". It was placed in a satellite and the Russians had no capability (at that point) to re-enter and recover satellites. There is some debate over exactly how long (and for how many orbits) the dog survived.

What is with this "you must wait 14 seconds before performing this action" error message? Is there a 14 second posting foreplay requirement? Whenever I type a short response, like one word, I get the aforementioned message upon posting. However, the post always works. The programming for this board is interesting. I think the unnecessary character count limit includes formatting as well. It should not. Nor should it include the text to which anyone is replying.
